An apparatus for securing eyelet parts (5, 6) to tapes (7), particularly for forming adjustable shoulder straps for brassieres comprises at least one magazine for receiving the eyelet parts, the magazine including a guide through which the eyelet parts are successively brought into a position of readiness for mounting on the tape, a storage device (67) for the tape, feed means (31, 45) for supplying the tape to the eyelet part or parts, cutter means (49, 50) for severing a section of tape having the eyelet part or parts mounted thereon, at least two blades or tongues (51, 56) adapted to operate from opposed sides of the eyelet and oppositely operating a reversing device (71) for the tape cooperating with said blades or tongues, to insert the tape into the eyelet or eyelets, and an ultrasonic welding device (69) to weld the free end of the strap onto a portion of the tape which has not passed through the eyelet. <IMAGE> |
