PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide extra-articular implantable mechanical energy absorbing systems designed to reduce mechanical energy transferred between sites forming a natural joint.SOLUTION: A system for manipulating energy transferred by sites defining a joint, the sites collectively defining a path of motion and having a cartilage having an energy absorption component configured therebetween, comprises: a first attachment structure configured to be attached to a first site of the joint; a second attachment structure configured to be attached to a second member of the joint; and an energy absorbing member attached to the first attachment structure and the second attachment structure. |
