ANTI-RINGING TECHNIQUE FOR SWITCHING POWER STAGE

A driver may provide a transition of a switch between an on state and an off state in two stages. In the first stage, the voltage slew rate of the voltage at an output terminal of the switch may be controlled. In the second stage, the current gradient of the switch may be controlled. The transition between the first stage and the second stage may be made based on the value of the voltage at the output terminal of the switch.

1. A circuit, comprising:
a switch coupled to an output terminal; a driver circuit coupled to a control input of the switch to provide a control signal thereto; and a control circuit coupled to the driver circuit to cause the driver circuit to provide the control signal to the switch in multiple stages for a single transition between an on and an off state of the switch based on a voltage at the output terminal, the driver circuit providing different driver strengths in each of the stages.
