The present invention addresses the problem of providing a horizontal electric field drive-mode liquid crystal display element to which an alignment control function is imparted with high efficiency and which has excellent reliability including seizing properties and a voltage retention rate. According to the present invention, the problem can be solved by a polymer composition comprising: (A) a photosensitive side chain polymer that can exhibit liquid crystallinity in a predetermined temperature range, wherein the lower limit and the upper limit of the temperature range in which the liquid crystallinity is exhibited are 150°C or higher and 200°C or higher, respectively; and (B) an organic solvent. |
