Disclosed is an address resource allocation method, comprising: a management device receiving a first request message for requesting an IP address resource for a first request device, the first request message comprising an identifier of a first protocol supported by the first request device; the management device determining, according to the identifier of the first protocol, an IP address allocation manner supported by the first protocol; the management device allocating an IP address resource to the first request device according to the IP address allocation manner. Also disclosed are an address resource request method, a management device, a request device, and a system. The present invention can enable different protocols to share an IP address resource, thereby improving utilization of the IP address resource.
