In order to achieve normally-off computing in which the power saving effect of a server having non-volatile memory is high, this power saving control system comprises a physical machine that includes memory and a CPU comprising a plurality of CPU cores, an operating system that runs on the physical machine, and one or more processes that run in the operating system. The operating system comprises: a process characteristic collection unit that collects process characteristics; a core allocation determination unit that determines the allocation of CPU cores to a process on the basis of the process characteristics; and a process scheduler that executes a process on the basis of the allocation of CPU cores. In addition, off/on frequency is reduced and off time is increased by turning the power supply to the CPU cores and memory on and off on the basis of the execution of a process. |
