<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare gas discharge lamp in which a getter material is arranged inside a non-light-emitting part of a luminous tube made from quartz glass, capable of reducing the length in axial direction of the non-light-emitting part. <P>SOLUTION: The rare gas discharge lamp includes a long luminous tube which is made from quartz glass and contains a light emitting part which encloses a discharge space and a non-light-emitting part being continuous from one end of the light emitting part, and a pair of electrodes which extend in length direction of the light emitting tube and are arranged to face each other on the outer surface of the light emitting part in the luminous tube. The non-light-emitting part contains an engagement part that is formed by deforming of a tube wall of it. In the non-light-emitting part, a getter structure is arranged which contains a getter material arranged closer to the discharge space side than to the engagement part, and an engaged member which engages with the engagement part. The getter structure is limited in movement in the direction approaching the discharge space because the engaged member engages with the engagement part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
