<p>The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for following a moving object for a mobile robot. The apparatus for controlling a mobile robot comprises: a camera unit which is attached to a fixed position on a mobile robot in order to photograph images; a laser scanner unit which photographs laser signals through a laser scanner; and a control unit which filters the photographed images, calculates the photographed laser signals, and generates a control signal based on the filtered images and the calculated laser signals in order to track a moving object. Therefore, the apparatus can easily determine changes in lighting or the shape of the moving object and can overcome the existing problems due to a narrow angle of view.</p> |
