PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide film which is manufactured at a low cost by simplifying processes compared to a conventional technology, includes fine cores arrayed periodically at equal intervals in the width direction of the film while keeping the shape of the core constant, has an excellent optical loss of the core, and further excellent reliability even under the condition that the film is repeatedly bent in a high temperature, high humidity environment.
SOLUTION: The optical waveguide film is structured such that dispersed bodies (cores) 3, having a cross sectional shape composed of a thermoplastic resin A to be cores surrounded by a thermoplastic resin B to be a clad, are extended in the longitudinal direction of the film and at least four dispersed bodies (cores) are arrayed in the width direction of the film. The mean roughness Ra of the core surface at the boundary face between the cores 3 and the clads is 100 nm or smaller.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
|
