摘要 <p>An optical device, such as a camera, includes first and second shake correction units 102, 103 for optically correcting image blur based on shake amount that is detected by a shake detection unit, 107. The second shake correction unit, 103, has different image blur correction effect from the first shake correction unit, 102. The optical device has a mode in which shake correction is performed using the first shake correction unit without using the second shake correction unit. The first shake correction unit may distort the image less for a given correction angle than the second shake correction unit and the image blur correction effect of the second shake correction unit may be higher than that of the first shake correction unit. When an image quality priority mode is selected (e.g. when photographing faces or when the camera is attached to a tripod) the first image correction unit alone may be used. When an image blur correction effect priority mode is selected (e.g. when photographing fast moving objects) the second image correction unit alone may be used. In a further mode both image correction units may be used.</p>
