Method for the Synthesis of Covalent Organic Frameworks

The present invention relates to a method for preparing covalent organic frameworks (COFs) comprising a plurality of amines and aldehydes subunits. Said method involves polyimines formation through condensation reactions. The invention also relates to COFs obtainable through said method in the form of a gel and in the form of a solid with sphere-like microstructures. The invention further refers to the uses of the obtained COFs in the coating surfaces, ink-jet printing, spray deposition, material encapsulation and coordination chemistry.
