Tape recorder with sensor for irregular tape running - has reading head gathering control track signals

A cassette tape recorder/reproducer has control circuits developed to ensure that the tape transport mechanism is adapted to any deviations in normal operations. A sensor of faults such as irregular winding, tape jamming or of the passage of the end of the tape causes the motors to be switched off. For application especially in teaching machines the tape may carry control signals which are sensed by a control head reading a control signal track. The control head may be integrated with the normal reproduction head. The various control circuits together with the audio circuits may be assembled on a single printed circuit board.
