PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which prevents a watermark image from being generated from a color material with infrared absorptivity when forming an information image from a color material with infrared absorptivity and forming any other image than the information image from a color material without infrared absorptivity.SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus, reception means receives a printing instruction, and determination means determines whether the printing instruction received by the reception means includes forming an information image from a color material with infrared absorptivity, and forming any other image than the information image from a color material without infrared absorptivity. On the basis of the result of the determination by the determination means, watermark image generation means generates a watermark image by using the color material without infrared absorptivity, superimpose means superimposes the watermark image generated by the watermark image generation means on an image generated on the basis of the printing instruction received by the reception means, and print means prints an image on which the watermark image is superimposed by the superimpose means. |
