PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a metal wire for reinforcement of a rubber article achieving both of damping performance and adhesiveness with a rubber, and to provide a metal wire for reinforcement of a rubber article, a pneumatic tire using the same and an apparatus for manufacturing a metal wire for reinforcement of a rubber article.SOLUTION: There is provided the method of manufacturing a metal wire for reinforcement of a rubber article, comprising a wire drawing step of applying wire drawing to a metal wire material consisting of one kind of twin crystal type damping alloy selected from a group consisting of Cu-Al-Mn alloy, Mg-Zr alloy, Mn-Cu alloy, Mn-Cu-Ni-Fe alloy, Cu-Al-Ni alloy, Ti-Ni alloy, Al-Zn alloy, Cu-Zn-Al alloy, Mg alloy, Cu-Si alloy, Fe-Cr-Ni-Mn-Si-Co alloy and Ni-Al alloy till a final wire diameter, and a plating step of applying brass plating to the metal wire material through the wire drawing step. The wire drawing in the wire drawing step is dry wire drawing and the plating treatment in the plating step is an electroplating treatment using a plating bath containing copper and zinc.
