PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detection device that identifies a plurality of obstacles ahead and detects a distance, a trajectory, and a movement of a plurality of identified obstacles, and a detection method thereof.SOLUTION: An obstacle detection device 1 includes: a distance measurement means 4 for detecting a distance of a plurality of obstacles; an image acquisition means 2 for acquiring an image; an image detection means 3a for detecting a plurality of obstacles from the image; an image identification means 3b for identifying a plurality of detected obstacles; and a control means 5 for performing control and calculation. The obstacle detection device 1 also includes a distance calculation means 3c that associates a plurality of identified obstacles with the distances detected by the distance measurement means 4. |
