<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet a requirement of a device for mechanically compensating for reduction in a respiration function during sleep, as a respiration assist device for recovering significant physical disability which may cause a traffic accident or sudden death in the worst case of a sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) and lack of sleep accompanying the SAS, or severe insomnia.SOLUTION: A respiration assist device is a device for mechanically compensating for reduction in a respiration function during sleep by using a method similar to a disabled person's own normal abdominal respiration, in order to replace a conventional respiration device attached to a mouth with the respiration assist device. Interlocking with an electro-cardiograph or the like makes it possible to apply a mechanism operating only in the case of reduction in the function to the device, like a cardiac pacemaker.</p> |
