PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device and an electric motor to suppress a contact noise caused between a motor case end surface and a flange end surface when a force acts on a coupling part between a speed reducer and motor in one direction.SOLUTION: An electric motor having a cylindrical shape with an opening side, comprises a case flange disposed on the opening side to expand an end face of the open side towards outside of the outer periphery; a motor case incorporating a motor rotor; an input/output shaft rotating in conjugation with the motor rotor, connected to a worm; and a flange member 12 fixed to the case flange, allowing the input/output shaft to extend through motor case to be exposed. The case flange and the flange member are fixed by case fixing mechanisms at two or more first fixing areas. Each elastic member including a deformable elastic member, partially incorporated in the flange member 12, contacts a surface of the case flange opposing the flange member at a position different from the first fixing areas including the case fixing mechanisms. |
