PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a power source for performing failure detection, by normal operation performed by a monitored unit.SOLUTION: A monitored unit 102 (information processing unit) is driven by a power source supplied from a power source supply unit 101. A rise of temperature of the monitored unit 102 caused by a failure in the monitored unit 102 generates voltage (thermoelectromotive force) corresponding to temperature difference between the monitored unit 102 and the open air in at least one of thermoelectric conversion units 104 (a first thermoelectric conversion unit 104a, second thermoelectric conversion unit 104b, ..., n-th thermoelectric conversion unit 104n) for converting temperature difference to voltage. A heat generation monitoring unit 106a is activated by the generated voltage, and performs failure detection on the monitored unit 102 on the basis of magnitude of the generated voltage. |
