<p>Method for operating a digital signage system in which a playing unit' (3) comprising a controller (1 1 ) and a display (12) for displaying media content, a central unit (2) for storing and generating playlists, and peripheral units (1 ) ensuring user access to the system are used. From the peripheral unit(s) (1 ) the playlist and the media files are transmitted to a database (10) of the central unit (2) through internet. The requested playlist and media files are transmitted from the database (10) of the central unit (2) to the playing unit (3). About the gender, age and number of the viewers of the media files statistics is generated by the controller (1 1 ) and transmitted to the central unit (2). The statistics are evaluated by an evaluating program (9). On the basis of the processed statistical data the priority of display of the media files is modified and new playlists are generated.</p> |
