<p>The present invention presents to a letter plate 2 for forming a closure over a letter aperture 12 in a door 10 or the like. The letter plate 2 comprises a frame 4, a sleeve 6 and a letter flap 8. The frame 4 has an external side 26, an internal side 28, and a letter opening 30. The external side 26 comprises a lip 42 that, in use, extends around the letter aperture on an outward facing side. The internal side 28 comprises an internal rim 36 extending from the frame 4 such that, in use, the internal rim 36 extends into the letter aperture 12. The sleeve 6 extends from the internal rim 36 in a direction away from the external side 26. The letter flap 8 is pivotally mounted on the internal side 28 of the frame 4 and is movable between a closed position in which the letter flap 8 closes the letter opening 30 and an open position. The letter flap 8 is configured to pivot away from the external face of the frame 4 within the sleeve 6.</p> |
