PURPOSE:The built-up roll which restrains the slip in the direction of circumference of the sleeve and shaft, by giving an eccentricity to the axial center of outside diameter and the axial center of inside diameter of the sleeve, and by shrink fitting the sleeve to the shaft, in the case of the backup roll, etc., for the rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The built-up roll is prepared by shrink fitting the sleeve 1 to the shaft 2; an eccentricity is given to the axial center O1 of outside diameter of the sleeve 1 and the axial center O2 of the inside diameter, and the distance (d) between these axial centers O1 and O2 is settled at a range 3-15% of the value obtained by subtracting the outside diameter of the shaft 2 from the outside diameter of the sleeve 1. According to this constitution of the built-up mill roll, the circumferential slip between the sleeve 1 and the shaft 2 is hardly admitted, therefore, if this roll is employed as the backup roll, the deflection of the backup roll while operating the rolling mill is prevented, and the accuracy of the rolled product is improved. |
