<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assist apparatus and parking assist method where even a beginner can park in a narrow space, instantly carry out avoidance operation in an emergency, and that can enhance use efficiency of a parking space without having a lot of dead spaces and can readily be employed to a vehicle with less confusion in operation and travelling directions. <P>SOLUTION: The parking assist apparatus includes: a steering drive device 12 that is provided in a vehicle body of the vehicle C and drives its steering; a wheel drive device 14 that is provided in the vehicle body and drives its wheels; a parking assist control device 16 that controls the steering drive device and the wheel drive device; and a manual operation device 18 that is provided in the exterior of the vehicle body and manually commands the speed and turning operation of the vehicle body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
