<p>The present invention discloses a needle insertion apparatus for automatically inserting and mounting hundreds to thousands of needles into the slots of the cylinder of a knitting machine, thereby improving the operation rate of the knitting machine. The present invention includes: a guide rail detachably mounted adjacent to the periphery of the cylinder having a plurality of slots arranged at a given pitch, the needles being slidably mounted in the slots; and a needle insertion device mounted on the guide rail so as to move along the slots to automatically insert the needles into the slots. The needle insertion device includes: a casing unit for receiving a plurality of needles; a needle guide unit for guiding the foremost one of the needles held in the casing unit from the discharge position to the insertion position; and a needle push unit for pushing the needle guided by the needle guide unit into one of the slots of the cylinder.</p> |
