<p>The present invention relates to a display device and, more particularly, to a display device and a method for driving the same, wherein the display device enables a plurality of display areas to be driven separately. The display device includes a display panel, a scan driving part, a data driving part, and a signal control part. The display panel comprises: a plurality of scan lines extending in the row direction; a plurality of data lines extending in the column direction; and a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix form and individually connected to a scan line and a data line. The scan driving part is connected to the scan lines and applies a gate-on voltage. The data driving part is connected to the data lines and supplies a data signal. The signal control part controls the scan driving part and the data driving part, and receives input data provided from the outside. The pixels are divided into at least a first display area and a second display area arranged in the row direction. The display panel additionally includes scan signal switches arranged between the first display area and the second display area, and capable of disconnecting a scan signal between neighboring pixels when a scan signal is supplied.</p> |
