<p>The present invention relates to a terminal and a method for controlling the same, wherein the terminal can recognize an emotion of a user using facial expressions of the user, and output an appropriate response corresponding to an emotional state of the user. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the terminal comprises a camera module, a memory, an emotion recognition unit, an output part, and an input part. The camera module records a first image including the face of a user. The memory stores a facial unit related to a plurality of emotions. The emotion recognition unit receives the first image, and can recognize an emotion of the user from the plurality of emotions using the facial unit and the first image. The output part comprises: a display part to display visual information; a sound output module to output auditory information; a haptic module to generate vibrations; and a fragrance part to generate olfactory information. The input part receives a command from the user for the operation of an emotion recognition application installed in the terminal. The facial unit is information about the pattern of a plurality of facial elements corresponding to each emotion. If the user inputs a command to execute the emotion recognition application through the input part, a predetermined execution window related to the emotion recognition unit is displayed on the display part and guides the input of recording information and the recording of the first image. The output part can output a response corresponding to the emotion of the user recognized based on the first image.</p> |
