According to the present invention, a system for controlling a motor in an electric bicycle includes a slope detection unit detecting a slope of a bicycle; a bicycle acceleration detection unit detecting acceleration of the bicycle; a pedal acceleration detection unit detecting acceleration of a pedal; and a motor operation control unit controlling operation of a motor, wherein the motor operation control unit receives the values detected from the slope detection unit, the bicycle acceleration detection unit, and the pedal acceleration detection unit to control operation of the motor by estimating torque of the pedal.
