Provided is a signal processing system in which it is not necessary to store a plurality of programs in advance. A CPU (12) reads out a predetermined voice signal processing program from a nonvolatile memory (14), and transmits the program to each microphone unit via a communication interface (11). The voice signal processing program transmitted from the host device (1) is temporarily stored in a volatile memory (23A) via a communication interface (21A). A voice signal processing unit (24A) performs a process in accordance with the voice signal processing program temporarily stored in the volatile memory (23A), and transmits, to the host device (1), a digital voice signal of voice collected by a microphone (25A). For example, in cases where an echo canceller program is transmitted from the host device (1), voice collected by the microphone (25A) is transmitted to the host device (1) after removing echo components therefrom. The voice signal processing program temporarily stored in the volatile memory (23A) is erased when the supply of power to the microphone unit (2A) is cut off. Every time the microphone unit is started up, the microphone unit always receives the voice signal processing program for operation from the host device (1) before performing operation. |
