MANUFACTURING METHOD OF MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a magnetic recording medium including a magnetic recording layer having excellent thermal stability and good writability.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a magnetic recording medium is provided. The magnetic recording medium comprises: a nonmagnetic substrate; and a magnetic recording layer that includes a first magnetic recording layer including a binary regular alloy composed of a first element and a second element, and that includes a second magnetic recording layer including a ternary or more regular alloy composed of the first element, the second element and one or more kinds of additional element. The manufacturing method of the magnetic recording medium includes the steps of: (A) forming the first magnetic recording layer by depositing the binary regular alloy while changing the temperature of the nonmagnetic substrate in a monotone manner; and (B) forming the second magnetic recording layer by depositing the ternary or more regular alloy while changing the deposition velocity of the additional element in a monotone manner.
