<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in an image forming apparatus including an intermediate transfer body, if the conveyance of a recording material is delayed during printing, the situation occurs in which the recording material is likely to be wound around a fixing unit; and a bias having a reverse polarity to a normal polarity is applied to the tip part of the recording material at a secondary transfer unit to prevent the winding around the fixing unit.SOLUTION: In the situation in which toner is mounted on the tip part of a recording material, a bias having a reverse polarity to a normal polarity is applied to the tip part of the recording material at a secondary transfer unit to significantly reduce the mounting amount of the toner on the tip part of the recording material. As a result, the winding of the recording material at a fixing unit can be prevented.</p> |
