<p>When separating solids contained in a liquid phase inside a membrane separation tank (2), the pH of the liquid phase is adjusted so that the surface charge of the solid is charged with the same electrical polarity as the surface charge of the plane ceramic membrane (3) that separates said solid from the liquid. Alternatively, an electrical charge-adjusting agent having a surface charge that has the same electrical polarity as the surface charge of the plane ceramic membrane (3) and a different electrical polarity from the surface charge of the solid is added to the liquid phase to charge the apparent surface charge of the solid with the same electrical polarity as the surface charge of the plane ceramic membrane (3).</p> |
