The present invention relates to a method for allocating a frequency (a communication frequency) for data reception and transmission adaptively according to the number of current users in a cell (the number of terminals in the middle of executing communications in the cell) where a mobile terminal is located. The method for allocating a frequency comprises the steps: dividing a cell controlled by one base station into multiple subcells and designating a frequency (a communication frequency) for transmitting and receiving data, i.e. a communication frequency, for each of the subcells; after figuring out a subcell in which a specific terminal is located from the multiple subcells, determining whether the number of terminals currently receiving and transmitting data in the subcell is greater than or equal to the maximum number of terminals allowed in the subcell (MAX_UE); allocating the communication frequency designated for the subcell as a communication frequency for the specific terminal if the number of current terminals is less than the MAX_UE; and allocating any one frequency among communication frequencies designated for subcells other than the subcell as a communication frequency for the specific terminal if the number of the current terminals is greater than or equal to the MAX_UE.
|
