<p>A rotary paddle sensor 1 comprises a motor driven shaft 3 adapted to receive or incorporating a paddle 4, wherein the shaft extends through a pinch valve 7, wherein the pinch valve is operable to close around and stop rotation of said shaft, the rotary paddle sensor being adapted for use as a level sensor in silos for bulk materials. The invention also relates to a method of remotely testing a rotary paddle level sensor through the use of a pinch valve operable on the shaft of the rotary paddle level sensor. A method of stopping rotation of a shaft by means of a pinch valve and a kit of parts for the construction of a rotary paddle sensor are also claimed.</p> |
