The invention relates to an iron turner for turning iron bars, with a guide track, at one end of which is arranged a pivot bearing with a rotatable spider in which a centrally split turning jaw consisting of two half shells is inserted, with a displaceable longitudinal slide having a longitudinal stop for the unmachined end of the iron bar, a holding jaw in the longitudinal slide and slots in the turning jaw and the holding jaw. The intention of the invention is to reduce the outlay and simplify handling.
