<p>This projection image display device has: a drive substrate (6) that drives a liquid crystal panel (1); a flexible substrate (7) that transmits drive signals from the drive substrate (6) to the liquid crystal panel (1); and a cooling unit (11) that supplies cooling air to the liquid crystal panel (1). The flexible substrate (7) is provided with a vent hole (20) for the cooling air supplied from the cooling unit (11). Preferably, the vent hole is disposed such that the width of the vent hole (20) is 1/2 or more of the width of the effective optical region of the liquid crystal panel (1), and that the length of the vent hole (20) is 2 mm or more to the lower surface side and the upper surface side from a through hole (9) through which the flexible substrate (7) is inserted. Consequently, the projection image display device, which eliminates retention of the cooling air that has passed through the liquid crystal panel (1), and which efficiently cools the liquid crystal panel (1), and has excellent reliability, is provided.</p> |
