<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a commodity more efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment of a commodity data processing apparatus, commodity identification information has a priority preset depending on whether it is commodity identification information used for object recognition or a code symbol. Information extraction means extracts commodity identification information used for object recognition as general object recognition for identifying a commodity in an image or commodity identification information constituted as a code symbol, from data of an image taken by an imaging unit.
