<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal cracking apparatus and method of a biomass, which can produce much tar of a low viscosity. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided: a drying region layer thickness regulator which so set the thickness of a drying region layer in a thermal cracking furnace 1 as to be a lower limit thickness necessary to impart a sufficient pressure to the under layers to suppress the generation of suspended rack-like biomass in a thermal cracking region, or a thickness larger than the lower limit, or an upper limit thickness thereof to dry the biomass in the drying region and cause the most of the tar produced in the thermal cracking region to pass therethrough, or a smaller thickness than the upper limit; and combustible gas production amount and tar production amount regulating means 7, 8. The drying region layer thickness regulator has a biomass supply amount regulating apparatus 2 and gasifying agent supply amount regulating apparatuses 7, 8; the combustible gas production amount and tar production amount regulator regulate the air supply amount and the steam supply amount to allow the regulation of the combustible gas amount and the tar amount extracted from the thermal cracking furnace 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
