Provided by the present invention are: a contact device which facilitates the extension of an arc generated when opening a contact; and an electromagnetic contactor using the same. The contact device (100) is arranged to connect and separate a movable contactor (130) from a pair of fixed contactors (106a, 106b), and the fixed contactors are composed of an upper plate part (116), a contact point table part (118) arranged in parallel by maintaining a predetermined interval in the lower side of the upper plate part, and a connection plate part (117) connecting the upper plate part with the contact point table part and is formed in an U shape which opens an internal part which faces each other. The movable contactor is arranged to be connected to and separated from the contact point table part between the upper plate part and the contact point table part of the fixed contactors, and arranges a contact lip without generating a stepped part interrupting the movement of an arc in a contact point part which faces the movable contactor of the contact point table part (118). |
