A method for drying an article with a radio frequency (RF) applicator (22) having anode elements (16, 18) and cathode elements (12, 14) includes capacitively coupling the anode elements (16, 18), capacitively coupling the cathode elements (12, 14), capacitively coupling an anode element (16, 18) to a cathode element (12, 14), and energizing the RF applicator (22) to generate an RF field between anode and cathode elements (12, 14, 16, 18) wherein liquid residing within the field will be dielectrically heated. |
