The present invention relates to a device for controlling a switch for a lighting system. Especially, the present invention relates to a device for controlling a switch for a lighting system to use public software and a method for controlling the same. The present invention, in a method of controlling switches which control a light emitting part by using public software in a lighting system, may include a step of detecting the classification voltage of a switch; a step of determining a switch type according to the classification voltage; a step of selecting software corresponding to the determined switch type; and a step of controlling the switch by the selected software.
