Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for transmitting data in a wireless LAN system. The method for transmitting data includes: generating a discontinuation request frame for requesting discontinuation of transmitting a data frame from a master-access point to a relay device; and transmitting the discontinuation request frame to the master-access point. As a result, the occurrence of a buffer overflow in the relay device can be prevented.
