<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow compensation for variation of transmission line loss in fluorescence measurement using an optical fiber.SOLUTION: An optical fiber of a transmission line emits excitation light incident from a base end surface thereof, from a front end surface thereof to a measurement object and receives fluorescence emitted from the measurement object by the front end surface and guides the fluorescence to the base end surface along with reflected light of the excitation light to emit them. A fluorescence measurement instrument includes an excitation optical system which causes the excitation light to be incident on the base end surface of the optical fiber, a fluorescence detection optical system which selectively detects the fluorescence out of light emitted from the base end surface of the optical fiber, and a reflected light detection optical system which selectively detects the reflected light of the excitation light in the front end surface, out of light emitted from the base end surface of the optical fiber. An arithmetic unit for obtaining a fluorescence intensity measurement value corrects a fluorescence intensity detected by the fluorescence detection optical system, by a reflected light intensity detected by the reflected light detection optical system.</p> |
