The present invention is to provide a three-dimensional image display device which can smoothly provide a three-dimensional image even though a user′s position moves and a method for controlling the same. For this, according to the present invention, the three-dimensional image display device comprises: one side electrode including at least one or more extension electrodes which are spaced apart from each other; the other side electrode including at least one or more extension electrodes which are spaced apart from each other; a liquid crystal part disposed between the one side electrode and the other side electrode to form a barrier pattern according to an electric field or potential difference which is selectively generated between the one side electrode and the other side electrode; and a terminal part which independently applies a voltage or pulse to each of the one side electrode and the other side electrode. At least two or more extension electrodes of the other side electrode are disposed to overlap one extension electrode of the one side electrode. The barrier pattern formed on the liquid crystal part can be changed in arrangement according to the applied states of the voltage or pulse applied to each of the one side electrode and the other side electrode. |
