PURPOSE:To provide the information related to the output state of a discharge lamp and the installed state of a filament with a simple structure without using a transformer detecting method complicating the structure. CONSTITUTION:A preheating current is carried to the filaments 3a, 3b of a discharge lamp 2 by a preheating capacitor C1 connected between the filaments 3a, 3b, and the discharge lamp 2 is lighted by the oscillating operation of an inverter circuit 1. In such a discharge lamp lighting device, a resistor R1 is connected between the filament 3b and the preheating capacitor C1, and a voltage detecting means 7 for detecting the voltage generated on both ends of the resistor R1 is provided. |
