PURPOSE:To keep an ink discharge state independent of influence by preventing ink within a nozzle from drying at the time of no use of a recording device. CONSTITUTION:When a head 1 moves and comes to a home position (H. P), a reliability retaining mechanism 2 advances to put a drying preventive cap 3 on the opening face 1b of the head 1. Within the drying preventive cap 3, there is mounted a magnetic fluid 5 magnetically attracted to a magnetic plate 4 magnetized in a thickness direction, and as it is put on the head 1, the nozzle 1a opening is completely sealed by the magnetic fluid 5 so that drying of ink is prevented. |
