PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device and an input method configured to simplify input operation to be required for inputting an item to be set and to ensure layout flexibility of an operation menu screen.SOLUTION: An input device includes: a display; a touch display; an input detection unit which detects an input position of a first touch input to a copy magnification setting screen and an input position of a second touch input to a magnification setting screen; an input continuation state determination unit which determines whether the first touch input to a magnification display unit continues or not; a display management unit which displays a magnification input screen when the first touch input to the magnification display unit continues and hides the magnification input screen when the first touch input to the magnification display unit is interrupted; and control means having an input management unit which reflects input information based on the second touch input to a numeric pad to setting information of the magnification display unit when the first touch input to the magnification display unit is interrupted.
