摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable optical transmission system which enables the enhancement of transmission characteristics by digital signal processing, and is arranged so that no optical signal interruption is caused even in the event of an optical network trouble.SOLUTION: An optical transmission system comprises: an optical signal transmitter which replicates a data signal d a number of times equal to "wavelength number m"×"optical transmission line number n", sets predetermined delays on the data signals by corresponding delay devices, and converts the resultant signals into n optical signals for each wavelength; an optical XC device 1 which wavelength-multiplexes optical signals of m waves, produces n wavelength-multiplexed optical signals, and outputs the n wavelength-multiplexed optical signals to n optical transmission lines, respectively; an optical XC device 2 which accepts the input of n wavelength-multiplexed optical signals transmitted through the n optical transmission lines, and demultiplexes the input signals into m waves of optical signals, respectively; and an optical signal receiver including a MIMO processing circuit which receives m×n waves of optical signals resulting from the demultiplexing by the optical XC device 2, and converts them into electric signals to perform MIMO processing of (m×n)×m. The optical transmission system roughly adjusts transmission delays between the optical transmission lines of replicated data signals d by the delay devices, and finely adjusts the roughly adjusted transmission delays in signal processing by the MIMO processing circuit to synthesize data signals d.
