PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for a heavy load which can suppress a fold of a ply cord of a crown part resulting from a side focus input without increasing tire weight so much and deteriorating the heat generation performance.SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire for a heavy load has a cross belt 20 having two or more cord rubber-coated layers 21, 22 and 23 on an external periphery of a crown part of a radial carcass 10, and a buffer rubber layer 30 between the carcass 10 and the cross belt 20. The buffer rubber layer 30 is arranged at least in a position of a tire width direction of a so-called one quarter point when viewed from a cross section in the tire width direction, and both ends 31a, 31b of the buffer rubber layer 30 are located in positions of the tire width direction between an end P of the widest belt layer in the tire width direction and an end Q of the second widest belt layer in the tire width direction. |
