The present invention relates to an optical module including an optical block for passive optical alignment and a manufacturing method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are the optical module and the manufacturing method thereof, capable of preventing an optical alignment error and performing the passive optical alignment without a complex active light alignment. The optical module according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a light transmission member (100) which transmits an optical signal, an optical device (200) which receives the optical signal, a substrate (210) which mounts the optical device, an electrode pad (220) which electrically connects the optical device to an external circuit, and an optical block (300) which includes an optical transmission member mounting unit which is formed for an optical axis alignment between the optical device (200) and the light transmission member (100). |
