<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate resin in which a photoelastic coefficient is low, and which is excellent in heat resistance, water vapor transmission, and solution stability, and to provide a film, an optical film, a phase difference film, and a polarizing plate using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The polycarbonate resin has constituent units shown by general formula (A1) and general formula (B), wherein the constituent unit shown by the general formula (A1) is 45-80 mol% in the all constituent units.
