PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve critical current density and reduce and AC loss, by compounding an oxide and carbonate powder of constitutional materials by prescribed compounding ratio, and performing plastic working in a tube of silver or silver alloy after sintering and crushing. SOLUTION: An oxide superconducting wire 10 has a ribbon-shaped filament 1 (4 to 40 aspect ratio) of 5 to 50μm thickness covered with a stabilizer material matrix 3 of silver or silver alloy. In the center of the superconductive where rod 10, a stabilizer matrix 2 of hexagonal columnar section is provided, and on its each side surface, the filament 1 is piled together. In a method of manufacture, a powder-in-tube method is sued, an oxide and carbonate powder of constitutional materials are compounded by prescribed compounding ratio, placed in a tube of silver or silver alloy with plastic working performed after sintering and crushing, and a tape-shaped wire rod is obtained. In this way, this superconductive wire rod 10 exhibits critical current density of 2000A/cm<2> or more at a temperature of 77K in a condition without applying a meagnetic field. An AC loss can be reduced. |
